Who can attend MHSC?

Any high school student from an underrepresented community (i.e., racial, sexual, gender, socioeconomic, or other minorities) who is interested in the health sciences is encouraged to attend!

This conference is also completely free to all registrants.

When and where is the conference?

The Minority Health Science Conference is April 15, 2023 at 8AM.

What should I wear and bring?

 We encourage you to wear comfortable jeans/pants and shoes as we will be walking around the building quite a bit!

Face masks are encouraged, you can bring your own, but they will also be available at the conference.

What does the conference schedule look like?

Throughout the day, students will participate in interactive activities related to the health sciences, meet peers across Oklahoma, and connect with professionals from all departments of the OU Health Sciences!

Who can I meet through MHSC?

Not only will you meet health-interested peers from across Oklahoma - you will be able to connect with (1) dozens of OU students and student-led organizations, many of which are involved in minority and health-related activities, and (2) several professionals from OU’s 7 OUHSC colleges!


Our speakers include over 10 graduate student panelists, over 30 student organization leaders, representatives from each OUHSC college, and our keynote speaker Dr. Pamela Allen. Learn more about her here.

What meals will be served throughout the day?

A light breakfast will be served from 7:00am to 9:00am during check-in, and a full lunch will be served from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Snacks will be provided throughout the day, and dietary restriction friendly options will be available for each meal.
